UNCLE SAM’S TOURNAMENT OF DOGS

This year the Port Angeles Waterfront District is once again hosting the City of Port Angeles’ Annual July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest.

The glorious and disgusting event will be taking place at the City Pier stage from 2-3pm on July 4th. No bleachers this year so arrive early and bring a chair or a blanket!

Twenty-two contestants across two leagues will compete for the crown and title King/Queen Weenie, along with cold hard cash.

League Play. We are separating competitors by age this year to level the playing field. Two leagues:

Big Dogs (Ages 17-Infiniti)

Lil Wieners (Ages 7-16)

Prizes. Each league will be competing for their own set of cash prizes

Big Dogs Prizes (generously provided by the Chamber of Commerce)

First Place - $800.00

Second Place - $300.00

Third Place - $100.00

First Contestant to Puke - MYSTERY GIFT - a Mystery gift for our first contestant to vomit and be disqualified.

Lil Wieners Prizes (begrudgingly provided by the Waterfront District)

First Place - $250.00

Second Place - $100.00

Third Place - $50.00

How to compete: There will be eleven brave souls in each league duking it out for the title and crown on July 4th. Ten contestants will be pre-selected through our qualifying round. The contestant will be selected by an embarrassing live qualifying round.

This event is sure to be a hoot and we hope to see you there. This event is only a small part of Port Angeles Fourth of July Celebration, the biggest July 4th celebration on the Olympic Peninsula. Our amazing Chamber of Commerce puts on the event and you do not want to miss everything else that is happening in the Waterfront District on July 4th. Our contestants are lucky, these hot dogs are delicious. They will have to balance savoring the flavor with the clock they’ll be eating against. What brave, foolish souls….will you be one of them?
